Supports business process and project-specific improvement activities, according to ISO 9001:2015 principles.

The Team

As part of BV Operations, your skills will be aligned to projects that support our 3 market sectors- Governments & Environment, Energy & Process Industries, and Connectivity & Commercial. In roles like Engineers, Technicians, and Skilled Specialists you will be engaged with exciting projects across the globe. From small community improvements to grand-scale Mega Projects, you will be Building a World of Difference through infrastructure growth and development while learning and focusing on your own individual development. The foundation of BV Operations provides the ability to move where your skills are needed and allows for a collaborative and innovative culture offering greater challenges and career development opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provides support for assigned QA processes and process owners.

  • Gathers information and analyzes performance of assigned processes and projects.

  • Provides information to support process analysis and trend reports; creates Preventive Action Requests (PARs), Corrective Action Requests (CARs), and deviations; and implements changes to established processes.

  • Tracks, analyzes, and communicates cost of quality.

  • Performs financial/results validation for assigned projects and reviews the quality of completed projects.

  • Monitors, measures, analyzes, and documents quality results for projects.

  • Supports implementation of project quality process changes, including creating / revising Division QMS documents.

  • Conducts QMS training, based on QMS trend information.

  • Supports the process improvement process, data and user interface, including RCAs.

  • Responsible for having a good working knowledge of the Division's Quality Management System.

  • Implements Safety, Quality, Code of Conduct, Lessons Learned, and Performance Management in accordance with Black and Veatch requirements.

  • May also include responsibilities of a Quality Associate, SPC 004.

  • Typically interfaces with multiple project teams and professionals simultaneously.

  • Periodic travel will be required . Individual contributor with no direct reports

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Technical Skills:

  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office computer tools.

  • Understanding of metrics used in measuring performance data.

  • Basic knowledge of financial measures as well as related principles and application.

  • Basic understanding of industrial design and construction.

  • Ability to understand instructions; verbal, numeric, and spatial aptitudes; perception of detail in verbal or tabular materials; analytic, precise, and problem solving.

  • Ability to manage small development projects (resources, scope, schedule, results, and risk).

  • Ability to develop and maintain schedule and adhere to budget for a small development project.

  • Ability to effectively conduct training sessions and transfer knowledge to others.

  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 principles.

  • Preferred Non-Technical Skills:

  • Demonstrates intermediate: Process management, conflict management, total work systems, written communications, and composure.

Minimum Qualifications

4 year degree from an accredited University; Technical or Business degrees (preferred), or equivalent experience. Minimum 6 years Quality industry related experience. All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations.

Certifications

Quality Management Systems Training, including knowledge of ISO 9001:2015. Exposure to applying and/or developing software in the engineering business.

Work Environment/Physical Demands

Normal office environment; may include heavy industrial construction exposure. Occasional physical work conditions: Capable of walking 5 miles and climbing stairs to 300 foot height; walk, climb stairs, ladders, move in/out of vehicles; lift or move up to 25 pounds; supplier or construction site environment has frequent exposure to vibration and loud noise, and occasional exposure to airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, slippery uneven walking surfaces, and risk of electrical shock.
