If so, we are currently looking for a Senior Design Engineer to complete and/or coordinate the facilities design throughout the planning, design, procurement, construction and start-up stages of the project lifecycle. In this role you will use a broad understanding of the field of engineering to ensure designs are fit for purpose and follow the Company standards, specifications and industry standards that are appropriate for the circumstances of the request.

What you will do:

  • Provide engineering support in developing project scope, high level facilities design, cost and schedules. This includes meeting facilitation with internal and external partners to identify and capture records for FEED (Front End Engineering Design) design consideration.

  • Provide oversight for Engineering Service Providers including all design work, design reviews, construction support, cost, schedule and scope management.

  • Efficiently lead design review meetings with Engineering Service Providers and Enbridge internal partners to ensure consistency in successful execution of all design results including but not limited to Scope of Work, Design Basis Memorandum, Process Hazard Analysis review, other pertinent studies, IFR/IFB/IFC issuance, constructability review, materials procurement etc.

  • Adhere to all standards, process, procedures and code compliances ensuring facilities designs are fit to business unit’s design practices.

  • Crafting RFPs for Engineering Service Providers and evaluate bidding process to select engineering service provider to develop designs for the project.

  • Provide Bill of Materials list to supply chain management to build on time material requisition, review quotations as per applicable codes and procure long lead materials for on time delivery.

  • Review, clarify and approve design deviations and change orders for contractors through RFI Process to support construction team.

  • Provide leadership, mentoring and training to other Enbridge business units and develop training documentation, tools and technical seminars for Enbridge staff.

Who you are:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (preferably in Electrical Engineering) field with six or more years of progressively responsible experience in engineering design and project management directly related to pipeline and facility designs in the oil and gas industry.

  • Professional Engineering designation (P.Eng) is required.

  • ​Previous pipeline, stations or facilities design experience preferred.

  • Interpersonal, effective communication, organizational change and the ability to lead and act independently as a senior level engineer.

  • Demonstrate ability to be innovative, take initiative on process improvement through MOC (Management of Change).

  • Role requires a valid driver’s license, which will be verified with a driver’s abstract check prior to hire.
