Job Summary
Similar to other industries over the last few years, Duke Energy has faced challenges with material constraints and our need for forecasting and procuring materials in advance has increased rapidly. This role will be focused on forecasting major component materials (transformers, reclosers, poles, etc.) for Customer Delivery (Distribution). Employees in this role should be self-motivated and able to build relationships within Duke Energy to facilitate the process of forecasting materials. Individuals at this level have a vast amount of business expertise and provide subject matter expertise for Customer Delivery as well as other functional areas. They work on business-critical systems and/or processes. They design, revise and implement solutions to meet customer & business needs. They exhibit autonomy in applying tools, methodologies and governance structures that align with business objectives for multiple departmental groups. Individuals must be self-motivated and have the ability to work independently with limited oversight.
Responsibilities
Serves as a central contact for technical expertise and business process guidance for Customer Delivery material forecasting for major components.
Facilitates material forecasting by analyzing large sets of data, structuring into usable format to enable decision making, and collaboration/communication with stakeholders.
Implements and integrates complex business changes across multiple, cross-functional depts.
Resolves complex system & business process problems. Analyzes and develops plan of action to correct or eliminate future issues.
Designs, revises and implements solutions to meet customer and business needs. Works to integrate solutions into existing business processes. Helps to manage change and communications across multiple departments.
Prepares thorough and accurate technical and business management reports, effective correspondence, accurate documentation and well-maintained records.
Coordinates and manages subject matter experts from a variety of disciplines and support organizations
Coaches and mentors business and technical consultants, as needed.
Develops and maintains standards and best practices across multiple business units
Required/Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Technical Business Administration, Business, Information Technology, Communications, Mathematics, Statistics or other related degree
In addition to required degree, three (3) years minimum of related work experience
In lieu of bachelor's degree(s) AND three (3) years minimum of related work experience listed above, high school diploma/GED AND seven (7) years related work experience
Desired Qualifications
In addition to desired degree, 10 years related work experience
Experience in the utility industry or supply chain

Advanced Excel skills and experience with Power BI
Ability to deal with a variety of individuals from various socio-economic, cultural and ethnic backgrounds.

Negotiation and conflict management skills
Demonstrated leadership within Duke Energy.
Student of the business who continuously seeks to learn more about the business in order to better educate themselves and inform their work product
Working Conditions
M - F, 8am - 5pm, flexible schedules available after training and based on business needs
2 - 3 days in office, days of the week flexible however 1 day a week should be aligned with manager
Hybrid Mobility Classification - Work will be performed from both remote and onsite locations after the onboarding period. However, hybrid employees should live within a reasonable commute to a Duke Energy facility.
