Job Summary
Accounts Payable is responsible for ensuring over $20 billion in invoice/payment transactions move appropriately through multiple ERP systems, managing $1 billion in corporate credit transactions; setup and maintenance of Vendor Master database while ensuring appropriate tax reporting guidelines are met for approximately 25,000 active vendors.
Position requires knowledge of the Procure to Payment (P2P) cycle. It requires thorough system knowledge of SAP Ariba, Maximo, NAS, PeopleSoft, and CAPS.
E mployees are responsible for day-to-day operations including but not limited to:
Resolve internal and external customer inquiries
Resolve invoice and payment exceptions
Vendor Master maintenance
Corporate Credit Card setup and maintenance
Expense management compliance and communication
Internal and external audit support
1099/1042 reporting
State Escheatment reporting compliance
Maintain proper business and financial processes to ensure adherence to all internal controls
Engagement and clear communication with internal and external stakeholders at all levels
Responsibilities
Daily Operations
Resolve internal and external customer inquiries
Research, resolve, and correct invoice/payment issues
Setup and maintenance of Vendor Master database
Maintain good working knowledge of proper business and financial processes to ensure adherence to all internal controls
Maintain Corporate Credit Card and Expense Management information
Provide accounting and financial reporting, analytical support, and analysis to customers, peers, and management
Support Systems
Serve as a resource for technical/functional support
Support internal and external audit requests
Identify areas for continuous improvement
Basic/Required Qualifications
Bachelors Degree Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Accounting, Supply Chain Management, or Other Related Degree
Minimum of 1 year Required Related Experience
In lieu of Bachelors degree(s) listed above, High School/GED AND 5 year(s) related work experience
Desired Qualifications
Prior exception /problem r esolution experience
Solid understanding of the Accounts Payable function and the relationship to the overall business process
Advanced k nowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
Excellent oral/written communication skills
Motivated self-starter with ability to work independently and within a team environment
Demonstrated prioritization, organization and time management skills
Strong interpretative, evaluative and/or constructive thinking to weigh options objectively and make practical decisions
Proven analytical, business acumen, and customer service skills
Working Conditions
Hybrid Mobility Classification – Work will be performed from both remote and onsite locations after the onboarding period. However, hybrid employees should live within a reasonable daily commute to a Duke Energy facility.
General office environment
