Responsible for the management of fleet assets/ resources at the garage facility level. Supervise garage operations to meet customer expectations. Develop, communicate and implement action plans and recommend changes to action plans as required. Facilitate the development of safe work practices into the fleet workplace and monitor safety behavior and performance in assigned garage facilities. Manage vehicle down time and ensure the mechanical integrity of the fleet. Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the Fleet organization and with external departments/contractors.
Develop a work team focused on building a safety climate conducive to adopting and maintaining safe work habits and safe attitudes.
Interface with internal customers to ensure that Service Level Agreements are being satisfied and that customized services or equipment options that are being provided are appropriate and acceptable to both customers and Business Unit management.
Prepare and oversee the garage budgets and effectively use all available resources, i.e., employees, dollars, contractors, assets, information, technology etc., to become a competitive, value added service provider.
Schedule preventative maintenance and repairs to provide maximum utilization of fleet assets.
Utilize the Fleet Information Management System (FIMS) and ensure the integrity of the system data.
Monitor, document and meet environmental compliance standards and practices in assigned garages.
Promote and foster an entrepreneurial business atmosphere for the assigned garage operations.
Identify and resolve garage operational issues, including conducting periodic vehicle/equipment inspections and monitoring/developing Fleet Technicians’ skill sets and performance

Education: High School Diploma with accreditations of specialized courses and/or certifications regarding maintenance and operations of light, medium & heavy duty trucks and equipment or equivalent education and experience.
Experience: Six years of Fleet maintenance experience required.
Must be able to work with internal and external customers to meet the requirements of this job. Good interpersonal communication skills will be essential.
