In this position you will provides\ strategic and tactical support on HR matters for the assigned region of the country. You will align resources to support the company’s strategic objectives, using data to influence, and acting as a change leader to drive continuous improvement in HR and the business. Organizational excellence is achieved through expert knowledge and application in the areas of employee relations, talent acquisition, performance management, training & development, succession planning and compensation, and compliance with federal and state regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Provide expert counsel to leadership to assist in creating a culture of inclusion and respect for all people in both operations and administrative functions

  • Guide efforts to attract and retain the best talent in the industry

  • Partner with leadership and Centuri’s Employee Relations Manager to address performance issues in a manner that is fair and equitable; Conduct thorough investigations into claims of inappropriate behavior

  • Assist management in the interview and selection process as needed; Oversee employee onboarding and orientation

  • Utilize data to influence operational decisions

  • Coordinate and facilitate management training sessions related to compliance and leadership development

  • Partner with local senior leadership to identify high potential employees and actively engages development plans in support of succession planning

  • Support corporate office initiatives such as compensation, benefits and communications

  • Drive change management initiatives such as diversity, equity and inclusion, DEI

  • Drive community outreach programs including organizing volunteer opportunities

  • Perform other responsibilities as request by leadership

Education, Skills, Experience Needed

  • Bachelor’s Degree in HR related discipline

  • 3 years of HR experience with a minimum 1 year of recruiting experience

  • Experience recruiting at a high pace during peak seasons

  • Preference for bilingual capabilities in English and Spanish (verbal and written)

  • Ability to influence others to a course of action by instructing, convincing, or persuading through professional guidance using logic and example

  • Demonstrated history of collaborative partnerships and problem solving, exhibited by established and maintained effective relationships with key constituents in the business and at the Corporate level; Ability to gain and retain trust and respect

  • Solid understanding of change management principles, ability to work in an ever-changing and ambiguous environment

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills with all levels of the organization and external stakeholders and provides accurate information on a timely basis

  • Ability to accomplish goals when information is vague and details are absent or difficult to obtain; Can quickly sense what will help or hinder accomplishing a goal

  • Proven ability to maintain confidentiality and exhibit ethics and integrity in all actions

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office is required; experience with SuccessFactors, and SAP are a plus

Working Environment

  • Work is performed in a typical indoor office environment

  • Flexibility to work various schedules and stay late when necessary with little or no notice

  • Must be able to read documents, use a computer, communicate verbally and in writing

  • Mobility required within an office, warehouse and construction site environments

  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 20 pounds

  • Ability to travel overnight to locations within the U.S., approximately 10% travel

Requirements

  • Pass pre-employment, random, post-accident, and reasonable suspicion drug screens

  • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
