Alliant Energy Senior Total Rewards Analyst in Cedar Rapids, Iowa

5397BRJob Responsibilities:

  • Leads the process for developing, implementing and evaluating health and welfare benefits and other total rewards programs. Monitors plan performance and adherence to plan provisions and applicable laws.

  • Establishes and maintains vendor relationships and external company contacts required for the administration of benefits and/or compensation programs and related service agreements.

  • Assesses current and future vendor relationships to ensure organizational fit and alignment with total rewards strategy.

  • Performs assessments of the impact and effectiveness of total rewards programs and improves business processes. Provides total rewards expertise to technology solution delivery projects and operational plans.

  • Meets company financial objectives by assisting with annual budget, forecasting, scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances, and initiating corrective actions.

  • Leads special projects relating to total rewards programs. Mentors and coaches less experienced total rewards analysts.

The candidate selected for this critical role must be a self-starter and will be responsible for supporting the administration of the company’s benefit programs along with responsibilities of select compensation programs while staying abreast of trends and related best practices within the utility industry. This position will lead the assessment and administration of the company's health and welfare benefit programs, employee benefits education, training and communication. Additionally, this position ensures compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and policies regarding compensation and benefits.

Job Category:Human Resources Job Qualifications: Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree with an emphasis in human resources, business administration, or related area

  • 7 + years of experience in human resources with experience in broad-based compensation, retirement programs, health and welfare programs, or similar analytical role.

  • Experience in providing guidance to senior leadership on compensation, benefits or general human resources practices and philosophy.

  • Demonstrated effective analytical skills and ability to successfully perform accurate in-depth analysis.

  • Demonstrated effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to use computer software programs (e.g., e-mail, word processing, spreadsheet, and project management). Previous HRMS experience preferred.

  • Ability to work effectively in a diverse and inclusive work environment.
