At Alliant Energy, we have an outstanding opportunity for a Sr. Business Analyst - Workday to join the team in Madison, WI or Cedar Rapids, IA.
In this role you will serve as the liaison between the IT development group and business units for the development and implementation of new business systems and improvements to existing systems with a big focus on WorkDay. You will conduct business systems needs analysis, formulate and define systems scope, specifications and objectives, conduct testing, implement and maintain systems, and provide recommendations.
This is a hybrid-remote position reporting to either the **Cedar Rapids, IA or Madison, WI office. Candidates must reside in either Iowa or Wisconsin.
Builds and maintains business systems using Agile principles and processes.
Relying on experience and general direction from manager, ensures systems are operating as designed, evaluates system processes and procedures, evaluates requests for changes to the system, develops recommendations to solve problems and issues related to business system operations, and makes decisions involving detailed knowledge of operational issues.
Typically works on complex, new, and less defined initiatives to assess and refine user stories, collaborate with scrum teams and product owners on solutions, develop test plans, conduct testing, and implement systems and system improvements.
Voices customer requirements into user stories and documents using Agile tools.
Communicates with peers such that all stakeholders clearly understand user stories.
Assists service and product owners in communicating business system initiatives and improvements.
Understands the business process and establishes standard procedures to ensure business systems are executed at an acceptable level of quality.
Supports end users in developing moderately complex reports and/or database queries and trains other analysts in the use of these tools.
Handles complex inquiries regarding the technical aspects of business systems by aiding and coordinating work with IT staff and other business units.
Develops and rolls out system application training for technical, departmental, and end users.
Develops business cases for capital projects.
Documents procedures and maintains corporate compliance with mandated regulations by leading and in some cases owning the development
Supports on-call activities for system support needs.
Engages in other duties as needed that support Alliant Energy’s Values and helps deliver on our Purpose to serve customers and build stronger communities.
5 years technical or professional experience.
Business analysis, requirements analysis, requirements management, program management, product management, software design, software development, software testing experience required.
Bachelor's Degree Business Administration, Information Systems, or related area.
WorkDay HR experience working with integrations, reporting, configurations, and testing scripts etc.
Business Analyst experience supporting HR functions.
Agile work experience.
