Job Summary

We're looking for a Security Systems Specialist II with strong experience in firewalls, intrusion prevention, and network architecture—someone who understands the importance of agility and collaboration in modern security operations. What you will do
Provides first- and second-level technical support for security systems, including firewalls, intrusion detection and prevention systems, jump hosts, authentication, VPN, proxy, and remote access systems.
Participates in low to high complexity company, department level, and team level projects impacting security.
Responsible for basic and advanced phases of security systems administration including policy management, installation, maintenance, testing, debugging, and documentation.
Develops and executes processes and procedures in support of the execution of network segmentation standards and controls for cybersecurity system protection.
Executes work processes which comply with security policies.
Prepares and maintains operational documentation.
Establishes procedures for the Help Desk to resolve minor security issues and problems.
Identifies, plans, implements, documents, and complies with procedures for complying with Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX) and North American Electric Reliability Corporation Critical Infrastructure Protection (NERC CIP) regulations.
Participates in 24/7 on-call rotation.
Engages in other duties as needed that support Alliant Energy’s Values and helps deliver on our Purpose to serve customers and build stronger communities.
Education Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree Information Technology Preferred
Required Experience
4 years of experience in server administration, data networking, firewall administration or applications development.
Advanced experience with at least one of the following: internet security, encryption, identity management, firewalls, intrusion detection, authentication systems (token or biometrics); security certification preferred (SSCP or GSEC).
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Demonstrated knowledge of networking principles or a networking certification.
Proven knowledge of mainframe, database, network, server, and remote connectivity security.
Demonstrated ability to use computer software programs (e.g., e-mail, word processing, spreadsheet, and project management).
Demonstrated effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
Ability to work effectively in a diverse work environment.

Pay Range:
$70,000-$91,000
This position is eligible to participate in the annual incentive program. The final salary offered will generally fall within this range and is dependent on various factors including but not limited to the responsibilities of the position, experience, skill set, internal pay equity and other relevant qualifications of the applicant.
