Alliant Energy is seeking an Manager, End User Technology (IT Service Desk and Workstation) to lead our IT Service Desk, Workstation, and Video Collaboration platforms within our organization . The individual filling this position will work closely with our business partners to understand their technology needs, then capturing and prioritizing associated work for the team. This position will require taking proactive action on undefined problems and involve facilitation of both business and technical resources through technology roadmap development. Superb leadership, organizational and communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to work in both a team environment and on self-directed tasks are vital.

This position will work out of our Madison, WI or Cedar Rapids, IA office. The successful candidate must reside in either Iowa or Wisconsin.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Shapes and owns the product road map and vision and communicates the story to key partners and the rest of the team.

  • Identifies minimum viable products to deliver business value.

  • Frequently meets with business partners to understand their need.

  • Increases Return on Investment by identifying and prioritizing the product features by business value.

  • Understands how to use technology to solve customer problems or create new value frontiers.

  • Drives sprint and release plans.

  • Manages the lifecycle of product or service including maintenance, patching, and new version introductions.

  • Leads and takes part in Technology planning processes to align priorities across IT Services

  • Focuses on Key Performance Indicators (KPI) to deliver cost-effective technology solutions.

  • Develops long-term strategic relationships with Internal business partners and industry peers.

  • Provides leadership and direction for the communication and implementation of new practices to increase organizational performance and success within Information Technology.

  • Provides direction to teams and ensures solutions and development options meet business needs, are appropriately prioritized, and are delivered in a prompt and cost-effective manner.

  • Works with Sourcing department to lead vendor relationships and agreements. Ensures quality services are provided in a cost-effective manner and agreed-upon service levels and contract terms are met.

  • Performs all management duties including, but not limited to, budgeting, hiring, performance reviews, coordinating and scheduling work, salary recommendations, ensure employees report to work fit for duty, leadership, coaching & counseling, models Alliant Energy’s Core Values at all times.

Required Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of professional experience

  • 3+ years of supervisory experience.

  • Experience in managing and implementing solutions to diverse and complex business problems that enable business strategies.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, or related field.

  • Promotes and supports diversity initiatives and equal employment opportunities.

  • Demonstrated effective leadership skills, with the ability to manage projects and employees at multiple locations.

  • Ability to establish relationships with others and use those relationships to successfully implement projects that align with business strategy and fit within the organization.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of information technologies and methodologies including knowledge of technology application platforms and infrastructure, and current technology solutions and application to business operations.

  • Experience developing short- and long-term strategic plans and translating those plans into action.

  • Demonstrated financial skills such as budgeting and basic accounting.
