This position does not offer relocation assistance.
This position will be responsible for performing weekly, monthly, and quarterly dam surveillance inspections and data collection and processing for Dominion Energy’s hydroelectric dams and facilities.
Performing impoundment inspections at Dominion Energy’s fossil power plants.
Coordinating with plant staff to address and resolve dam safety maintenance items.
Performing annual shoreline inspections and reporting.
Assisting with generating FERC required annual instrumentation and monitoring reports.
Assisting with reviewing, copying and distribution of Emergency Action Plans.
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience
Candidates must have excellent computer skills with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office products (especially Excel), ability to perform data analysis and reporting; and excellent communications and inter-personal skills (in person, by phone and in writing). This position requires the ability to travel to Dominion’s plants throughout the Dominion Fossil Hydro system; must be able to work independently and as a team member, and must have excellent problem-solving, troubleshooting, mathematical, time management and organizational skills.
Candidate must be able to:
Walk up and down steep slopes and on uneven or rough ground.
Work outdoors in all seasons of the year.
Carry monitoring equipment from a vehicle to the instrument locations on the dams.
Apprentice Technician Minimum RequirementsRequires High School diploma or GED and 0-2 years of related experience.
Technician Minimum RequirementsRequires an Associate degree and a minimum of two (2) years’ work experience in a related field or at least 5 years of related experience.
