We offer a hybrid 3-2 work schedule (three days in the office, two days of teleworking) to accommodate the need for flexibility.

Military service members and veterans with ranks from E3-E5, W1-W2, or O1-O3, plus appropriate equivalent combination of education and years of experience as outlined below will be considered for this opportunity.

Job Summary

Responsibilities include managing waste shipping records (i.e. records for hazardous, non-hazardous, universal, PCB, and recyclable wastes and materials), report preparation, invoice processing and management, and purchase order management. This position will assist with projects related to waste minimization, solid waste management or similar environmental programs. In addition, this position will participate in data analysis, problem analysis, and assist with developing waste compliance strategies. Perform other duties as requested or assigned.

Please note: The successful candidate can be based in Richmond, VA or Cayce SC.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

0-3 years relevant experience. (Note: A Master's degree will count as one year of experience. A partial year of experience of six months or more will be rounded up to one year). Successful candidate must have some related experience working with RCRA and/or DOT regulations, (i.e., interpreting RCRA and DOT regulations or related experience).

Other related knowledge, skills, abilities, and experience include:

  • Good working knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental waste regulations.

  • Good working knowledge of environmental operating permits and regulations specific to the work site, if responsible for contracted assets.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

  • Basic computer skills in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, experience with SAP is a plus.

  • Logic and reasoning skills to identify strengths and weaknesses of alternatives, conclusions, or approaches.

  • Respectful assertiveness, to ensure environmental compliance requirements are met by others, while considering the spirit and letter of the law.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, to interface with internal stakeholders effectively.

  • Ability to work under established policies and procedures.

  • Ability to meet set schedules and system or program requirements.

Degree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education: Bachelor
