Job Summary/Objective:
As a Process Improvement & Control Manager at Southwire, you’ll lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish — working with stakeholders to plan requirements, manage project schedules, identify risks, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. Your projects will often span offices, as the projects you manage have the potential to include multiple business units across the enterprise. It's your job to coordinate the team members and keep them up to date on progress and deadlines.
Key Responsibilities:
Human Capital
• Provide leadership, guidance, and direction to all direct reports.
• Develop a highly motivated and committed team with emphasis on the development of skills needed to accomplish development of operational improvements.
• Perform regular training needs assessments to identify needed training for all team members.
Operational Excellence
• Identify opportunities for supply chain, manufacturing, and operational improvements. Collaborate with large cross-functional teams through end-to-end project lifecycle to implement new processes and systems.
• Manage and nurture relationships between cross-functional teams to support deployment of uniform and enterprise centric policies/procedures.
• Manage process improvement projects by consulting with one or more operational business units to evaluate, analyze, and improve business processes which create functional and organization-wide synergies with measurable and sustainable results.
• Lead process improvement support staff responsible for drafting process maps, PFEMA creation and policy drafting.
• Employ Lean Six Sigma methodologies to drive creation and implementation of policy and procedures that support internal control directives.
• Develop training that supports adherence and proper utilization of policies and procedures.
• Train local SMEs and local leadership on newly created or updated policies and procedures.
• Develop and carry-out sustainability plans that reinforce adherence to newly introduced or updated policies and procedures.
Qualifications and Experience Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
• 5+ demonstrated experience in leading and managing projects and teams (3+ management experience). Demonstrated experience is defining and executing strategies to introduce technical capabilities in manufacturing and distribution organizations.
• Lean Six Sigma process experience
• Professional Certification: Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt preferred.
• Statistical and analytical problem solving; database management skills.
• Ability to demonstrate quantitative, visual, mechanical, and spatial skills related to manufacturing/distribution knowledge and technical skills in addition to logical reasoning.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with SAP, Advaris is a plus.
• Verbal and written communication abilities along with interpersonal and leadership skills required.
• Must have a clear understanding of DHP principles and applications.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a matrix organization and positively influence strategies and outcomes.
• Must be able to work in an environment with exposure to heat/cold conditions and levels of noise, and potential exposure to various industrial liquids, oils, gases, etc.
• Travel up to 25%
