MISO Energy Senior/Principal Application Support Analyst in Carmel, Indiana

MISO is hiring a Senior/Principal Application Support Analyst . You will support critical applications that allow MISO members in Central North America and our Control Room Operators dispatch generation that provides stability to the bulk electric system from Canada to the Gulf of Mexico, and from Ohio to Texas.

As our Senior/Principal Application Support Analyst , you will be part of a close-knit team of curious, inquisitive, and self-motivated individuals. Lead projects to ensure systems, applications and processes are developed and implemented according to specifications and customer needs. You’ll be part of an on-call monthly rotation, and you’ll also be engaged in maintenance, upgrades, and improvements for various applications.   • Leading projects that involve maintaining and upgrading complex systems

  • Executing application troubleshooting and taking action to correct problems encountered

  • Collaborating with vendors to conceptualize, initiate, and develop software programs and applications that align with our business requirements

  • Testing, debugging, documenting, and installing modified and new programs to meet business and compliance requirements

  • Using your critical and intuitive thinking to analyze high-risk situations, generate multiple options and approaches while considering how the solution may change or impact the organization

  • Proactively detecting issues before incidents happen

To be successful in the role, we’ll be seeking the following attributes:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field (or 8+ years relevant work experience equivalency)

  • Experience developing and coordinating project plans

  • Supporting highly available, mission critical applications and being part of a 24x7 on-call rotation

  • Using Oracle or similar experience with databases

  • Navigating in Windows and/or Linux systems

Previous energy industry experience is a huge plus!

Appropriate level will be determined based upon experience and knowledge.
