Mechanical Maintenance Technician
We are currently recruiting for a Mechanical Maintenance Technician position for our Operations Services group in Cambridge, Ontario.
The Mechanical Maintenance Technician is responsible for reviewing specifications (internal and external), working in a team environment, completing and documenting equipment refurbishment tasks per MITP / procedure, organizing and testing equipment for deployment to site, executing work at our customer's site and potentially taking a Lead Technician role during an Outage.
Maintain and enhance equipment and tooling performance for the Waterlancing program.
During project execution work in the field as a Waterlancing technician or lead, responsible for setting up, troubleshooting and maintaining equipment.
Maintain Waterlancing operating procedures and technicians' qualifications.
Undertake moderately complex technical assignments of a repeating nature that are part of an ongoing engineering program in support of activities such as design, testing, production, operation of equipment and systems.
Assist in diagnosing causes of system, equipment or material failures using various processes and tools.
Implement process changes/improvements through tooling, fixturing, etc.
Displays technical competence. Must understand the objectives of professional staff but requires some direction from engineers.
Post-secondary education in a technical field is preferred.
1 - 3 years previous work experience in an associated field would be preferred.
Strong automation/control system knowledge or background is an asset.
Previous experience working at a Nuclear Facility (BP, OPG or NBP) would be preferred.
Extensive site work/travel is required (50% - 60%).
Field projects will require shift work and extended work hours.
Excellent communication skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively as part of a team or independently.
