Feeney Brothers Utility Services is currently looking for Backhoe Operators to join our team as part of a utility crew. The biggest challenges of this Backhoe Operator role are the physical demands and operating in/dealing with the New England elements. JOB PURPOSE

Operators drive, control, and maintain heavy equipment and other necessary machinery in a safe, efficient manner. Operators will work in a fast-paced environments. Safety is a top priority for Operators and must have knowledge of safe operation and driving practices to complete obligations. Operators report directly to the Foreman.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Excavating trenches and structures, laying pipe and precast concrete structures, loading trucks and back-filling trenches

• Placing shoring and trench boxes

• Operates a crawler or rubber-tired machine mounted with an excavator bucket

• May also be equipped with various hydraulic attachments (e.g. hammers, pipe vacuum)

• Performs daily inspection on equipment for issues and/or deficiencies

• Completes inspection paperwork daily and notifies the Foreman of any issues/defects

• May assist the crew, when needed, in operating other equipment and/or helping the laborers on the ground

• Performs other duties as assigned

  POSITION REQUIREMENTS

CERTIFICATIONS AND QUALIFICATIONS

• Actual Backhoe Operating experience

• 2A Hoisting License (at least)

• DOT Medical Examiners Certificate

• Valid Driver’s License

• OSHA 10
