AltaGas - Lead, Project Controls Governance
AltaGas is seeking a Project Controls Governance Lead to develop, implement, train, govern, support, and audit the Project Controls function. This role is crucial for ensuring effective project decision-making and reporting, aligned with industry best practices.
You will:
Collaborate with consultants to develop and implement Project Controls guidelines, processes, procedures, templates, and tools that align with industry best practices.
Conduct training sessions for personnel on project controls methodologies and requirements, ensuring adherence to AltaGas guidelines.
Regularly maintain and audit Project Controls guidelines, processes, procedures, templates, tools, and systems to ensure compliance and accuracy.
Identify inefficiencies within project controls and interfaces with other functional groups, develop solutions, and implement improvements.
Assess and optimize Omega 365 PIMs cost control software; coordinate with Omega 365 to deliver required fixes and optimizations. Evaluate PIMs against other software packages and the new ERP system to determine its suitability.
Collaborate with finance, accounting, and digital teams to define and implement project controls requirements within the new ERP system, ensuring seamless integration and reporting.
Ensure seamless mapping of project information from estimates to Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) to Code of Accounts and reporting outputs.
Define and maintain Project Controls requirements within Project Development Methodology documentation, ensuring clarity and consistency.
Participate in project assurance reviews as a subject matter expert, providing insights and recommendations.
You have:
10 to 15 years in project controls within the oil and gas industry, with experience in governance and management of project controls functions.
In-depth knowledge of project controls, reporting, analysis, and industry best practices, including AACE and PMI standards. Experience with earned value and progress reporting.
Proficient in Omega 365 PIMs cost control program and ERP systems; knowledge of Oracle ERP is an asset.
Strong communicator with the ability to influence various levels within the company.
Ability to identify inefficiencies and develop collaborative solutions.
Able to work independently, interpret challenges, and develop solutions.
