AltaGas - Co-op – Operations Engineering

Term: May 2025 to May 2026 or September 2026; 12 – 16 months

You’ll work on significant projects and collaborate with top industry professionals supporting our growing energy business.

There are two available Operations Engineering opportunities.

How You’ll Spend Your Days

• Building plant performance monitoring and daily reports for Operations Engineering

• Conducting ongoing maintenance and improvements to PI Vision screens and implementing necessary enhancements

• Supporting Process Engineering in gathering and centralizing plant performance models, including training on pipeline gathering system hydraulics

• Assisting with standardization and reporting for Measurement Schematics across facilities

• Developing tools for cost reporting on small “Level 3” projects managed by Operations Engineering

• Rationalizing baseline HAZOPs across AltaGas facilities, closing out recommendations, and managing risks

Who You Are

• Currently pursuing a degree in Chemical or Process Engineering

• Energetic and ready to tackle new projects and ideas

• You have a keen eye for detail, strong analytical abilities, a solid work ethic, and excellent communication & interpersonal skills

• You're eager to learn about the energy industry and gain hands-on, real-world experience

• Group Project: Collaborate on a multi-team and discipline term project and showcase your insights to the AltaGas Leadership team
