About this position:
In this role you will participate as part of the Regulatory and Finance teams in maintaining and reporting financial data, including analyzing, reporting, and presenting information to management and external regulatory agencies. You will assist with regulatory initiatives in an effort to achieve company goals, including the development and filing of general rate review applications. Your efforts will be focused on the company's Montana jurisdiction regulatory process in an effort to achieve successful regulatory outcomes. Regularly analyze, review, and prepare research, studies, and information related to utility rates, revenues, tariff schedules, service, customer data, and various regulatory filings.

About this job:
Perform financial accounting, economic, and other analyses of regulatory matters
Develop and process regulatory filings ensuring timely recovery of utility costs
Maintain revenue databases and related reporting
Perform research, analysis and coordination with various departments in support of customer rates, revenues, tariff schedules, cost of service, and customer data
Prepare and maintain budgeted financial information and analyze variances against actual results
Integrate information from a variety of sources and logically analyze and interpret data to identify relevant issues
Communicate with various departments and external vendors in a logical and concise manner
Meet regulatory reporting requirements and present findings and recommendations to management through reports, presentations, or other direct communications.
Provide key analytical support for regulatory proposals and develop models as needed that support corporate goals
Support timely and quality completion of regulatory filings and help ensure revenues and expenses are properly recorded
Work collaboratively with other departments to identify and resolve accounting and reporting issues
Represent the company at public and government agency meetings, potentially including the opportunity to provide testimony before regulatory agencies
Travel required up to 10% of time

Am I right for this job? Here's the success profile:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Engineering, Data Science, or related field, or a minimum of 5 years of equivalent work experience. Additional experience welcomed and recognized with compensation up to the top of the pay range.
Excellent analysis and problem-solving skills, with a high attention to detail
Excellent organizational skills, communications skills, the ability to multi-task and, most importantly, the ability to work well in a team
Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite of applications
Ability to be proactive, problem solve, and trouble shoot issues without detailed assistance
Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities under established timelines
Ability to become proficient with the application of the company's policies and procedures, revenue requirement-related processes, tariffs, and related regulatory rules/laws
Knowledge of Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) Uniform System of Accounts preferred
Experience with SAP or similar ERP software systems desired
