Nebraska Public Power District (NPPD) has an immediate opening for a CNS ET Technical or System Analyst located at Cooper Nuclear Station in Brownville, with a possibility for part time telecommuting. Position closes May 18, 2021 at 11:59 pm Central Time.
Responsible for developing and maintaining full stack web applications for the organization.
The incumbent’s duties and responsibilities will include the following:
Web application program coding (particularly in Visual Studio .NET/.NET Core)
Maintaining and upgrading existing applications as required
Server Administration (particularly Microsoft SQL & IIS Server)
Software Installation and Support
Local Area Network and Security Administration
Troubleshooting Technical IssuesIndividuals would be expected to function independently without direct oversight. Position requires skills in collaboration, problem analysis/resolution and knowledge of Microsoft Operating Systems and networking.
Education, Training and Experience
Bachelor's degree in IT or related field with 3 years technical IT experience preferred.
Associate's degree in IT or related field with 5 years technical IT experience preferred.
High school diploma/GED and 8 years technical IT experience
The incumbent should also possess the following skills:
Full Stack Microsoft.NET Web Application development with SQL Server/Oracle back end
Ability to work independently and in cooperation with others on multiple activities, with flexibility to manage competing demands and changing priorities
Excellent communication, interpersonal and organization skills
Excellent analytical problem-solving skills
Must be customer-service oriented and adaptable to ongoing change
Licenses and/or Certifications
Security Clearance: Incumbent may be required to satisfy any existing and future District security clearance or background check requirements for access to key NPPD locations and/or supporting sensitive business applications.
Obtain and maintain intermediate to advanced technical certification aligned with key business system platform(s) used at the District (for example, SAP, Microsoft Certifications, and Security related best practices) as applicable.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Technical & Systems Analyst
Analyze, design, develop, configure, maintain, troubleshoot, and provide direction and support for complex systems, applications and databases in support of the District’s computing environment. Provide technical architecture recommendations and apply best practices in system design, development, and testing. Collaborate with/advise/coach other ET/Corporate Security and business unit analysts to ensure understanding of business and technical work processes, tools and best practices.
Evaluate, create, document, and test complex system-related interfaces and integration.
Maintains efficient and effective management of vendor contract service relationships pertaining to technical services.
Provide 24/7 system support, carry a mobile communications device, and perform duties from remote locations such as home and during business travel.
Lead special task groups, trouble-shooting efforts, and integration and/or improvement project teams.
Lead the development and implementation of training and communications plans/materials.
Accountable for other duties as assigned.

Salary Information - Nebraska Public Power District offers a competitive starting salary with opportunities for growth.
Pay Grade – 12 Monthly Exempt (Technical Analyst)
Pay Grade – 13 Monthly Exempt (Systems Analyst)
Typical Pay Grade 12 Starting Salary Range: $5,582-$6,978
Typical Pay Grade 13 Starting Salary Range: $6,261-$7,826
Travel Required: Up to 25% (With no or minimal overnight stays, less than 3 per month, typically within state of Nebraska) Travel required may fluctuate by business need. This is an estimate and will be discussed further with candidates that receive an interview.
