Job Purpose

The Gas Business Enablement (GBE) program is an innovative initiative designed to enable the National Grid’s US Gas team to “Bring Energy to Life.” This major long-term initiative’s goals are to improve customer satisfaction, accelerate business performance, enhance compliance, and enable employees to provide the best service they can by arming them with leading technology.

The GBE Change Management team is charged with helping to drive adoption of new ways of working. This team is focused on creating awareness through buy-in and commitment of new tools and systems.

As part of the GBE Change Management team, our Change Management Specialist will be a critical contributor. This role is perfect for a self-starter who has demonstrated strong people and analytical skills. This candidate will be providing support to the change team while honing his/her/their change management expertise.

The successful candidate will ideally have had previous experience of participating in large scale transformation programs. He/she/they will be highly articulate and confident to engage at all levels across the gas business and ensuring quality and timely delivery of the assigned work.

Key Accountabilities
  • Perform change impact and readiness assessments, evaluate results, and present findings in a logical and easy-to-understand manner; collaborate with team to implement plans to help impacted individuals and groups embrace change

  • Work with stakeholders across the organization to help them adapt to new changes and embrace transformational goals

  • Participate in training planning, design, and development for employees to ensure Go-Live success

  • Provide inputs into key adoption driving activities (i.e. Demos and Dress rehearsals)

  • Facilitate change management activities (i.e. Townhalls, roadshows) designed to inform and educate internal customers

  • Partner with internal and external experts to implement targeted communication campaigns

  • Identify, analyze, and prepare risk mitigation tactics

  • Supervisory/Interpersonal- Experience Required

  • Good change management skills.

  • Good project management skills.

  • Experience of dealing with a variety of stakeholders.

  • Ability to develop effective working relationships across the business.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Human Resources, Ecomomics or related field

  • Minimum of 2-4 years of professional experience in change management is a plus

  • Industry expertise is a plus

  • Project / Program Management certification is a plus

  • Change Management Certification or relevant degree is a plus

  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills; strong interpersonal and listening skills with proven collaboration capabilities.

  • Proven ability to think ahead, engage proactively and take the initiative. Comfortable and successful working in a fast-paced, fluid environment.

  • Highly organized, mindful of deadlines, and able to work under limited supervision.

  • Good business acumen with appreciation of the day to day business challenges of US Gas Business

  • Strong engagement and communication skills, with proven ability to create clear and concise messages for stakeholders.

  • Ability to work in partnership with a number of consulting partners, and contractors maintaining and growing a ‘one team’ ethos mentality

  • Valid driver's license
