Job Purpose

The Talent Acquisition (TA) Operations team at National Grid is the central hub that enables the TA team to provide an efficient, effective, and high performing service to the business. Examples of key responsibilities that team is responsible for include designing and managing change for TA processes, managing suppliers to ensure a high return on investment, monitoring adherence to processes to ensure high compliance, and administrative support for the wider TA team.

The TA Operational Analyst is an important role within the team. You’ll have the opportunity to interact with a wide range of stakeholders and will be at the forefront of solving interesting challenges. Effectively supporting the Talent Acquisition team, you will be part of the team responsible for identifying improvements in the overall recruitment process having a very visible impact on candidate and hiring manager experience. You will be a key member of the team helping to execute the change plans driving to improve processes iteratively and at pace. You’ll also demonstrate excellent intrapersonal skills as a key contact for stakeholders in the wider business who may need support with TA processes or systems.

Key Accountabilities

• Responsible for providing support to the Talent Acquisition team including proactively identify improvements to processes, using technology to innovate the team's day-to-day recruitment and onboarding activities.

• Understand end to end recruiting process, and provide advice on how to improve using technology and streamlining processes

• Ability to collaborate with all stakeholders and support on recruitment or onboarding initiatives

• Responsible for training new recruiters and coordinators on recruitment systems and processes

• Assist with vendor partnerships to create and manage resource strategies, execute project plans, and obtain data to support recruitment activities.

• Participate in ongoing and/or ad-hoc people projects as determined by the needs of the organization


• 3-5 years of experience in recruitment and/or Talent Acquisition system administration.

• Strong understanding of the end-to-end recruitment and onboarding process along with demonstrable experience of improving processes and executing change

• Experience using an applicant tracking system and/or maintenance of an ATS.

• Demonstrated strong organizational and planning skills with the proven ability to manage multiple priorities of moderate scope.

• Demonstrated strong oral and written communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively across organization.

• Proficient in relevant software e.g. Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
