This requires us to deliver on our promises and always look for new opportunities to grow, both ourselves and our business. ## Job Purpose The Regulatory Compliance Manager will support National Grid in achieving its strategic objectives by providing assurance over key controls and mitigating activities that the organization relies on to manage its regulatory compliance obligations. The Regulatory Compliance Manager will be responsible for a team of Regulatory Compliance Specialists as they manage, report on, and provide assurance for regulatory compliance obligations. Among other things, the manager will be responsible for ensuring timely remediation of compliance assurance findings. ## Key Accountabilities + Lead a Regulatory Compliance team in the Second Line in National Grid’s Three Lines of Defense approach to risk management, providing coaching and delivering regular feedback as part of the performance management cycle. + Provide support, advice, and challenge to National Grid's First Line (the business). + Provide best practice advice and lead training on regulatory compliance management techniques and appropriate responses, including internal control design. + Develop and deliver a plan of work across the year, including leading key controls testing + Provide robust review of controls testing documentation and reporting, in line with good practice guidance. + Manage and coordinate the timely execution of team projects, ensuring that activities, including testing plans, are properly focused on key obligations and delivering value to the business. + Ensure Regulatory Compliance activity is delivered at a high standard and in compliance with international professional standards and good practice. + Proactively look for areas of improvement and provide value adding and insightful recommendations that are pragmatic, address root causes, and lead to control/process improvements. ## Supervisory/Interpersonal- Experience Required ↵ + Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, counsel, coach, develop and influence others. + Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain strong stakeholder relationships to become a trusted advisor + Strong communication skills, including interpersonal, written and verbal skills, with ability to prepare and present comprehensive, clear, concise reports, maintaining objectivity and impartiality. ## Qualifications + A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Engineering or relevant field, with an advanced degree a plus. + 5+ years of relevant work experience, including Internal Audit in a large company (preferably Energy/Utilities) and/or Big 4 experience in Audit or a background in Legal or Regulatory. + Track record for people management and performance management. + Strong understanding of risk and regulatory compliance management, internal controls, and business processes to provide reliable assurance on the design and effectiveness of the control framework. + Demonstrable commitment to integrity and ethical values. + Enterprise Risk Management and 3 Lines of Defense experience/expertise a plus. + Technology experience, including data analytics (e.g., ACL) a plus. + Professional certification or equivalent in relevant area, or working towards one, a plus. ## More Information This position has a career path which provides for advancement opportunities within and across bands as you develop and evolve in the position; gaining experience, expertise and acquiring and applying technical skills.
