National Grid is hiring a Lead Benefits Communication Specialist for our Global Benefits/Reward team in Brooklyn, NY.
Job Purpose
Working within the Global Benefits team, you will help improve the employee experience at National Grid by communicating and raising awareness of the many benefits we have to offer our colleagues. As a subject matter expert in the field of employee benefits you will support the development of the benefits strategy and project work relating to key changes. You will also utilize your communication expertise to support the continuous improvement and engagement with our programming.
Key Accountabilities
You are a subject matter expert in employer sponsored benefits and understand the importance of targeted benefits communication during moments that matter.
You have extensive experience creating effective benefits communications that are inspiring and engaging.
You can work with multiple internal and external stakeholders to deliver communications on time and on purpose.
As the point person for all benefits communications, you will:
Develop and deliver employee benefits communications aligned with global benefits and reward strategy.
Build and execute on an annual communications plan and project manage global open enrollment communications.
Liaise with Global People and internal branding teams to develop impactful and culturally relevant messaging.
Identify improvements in benefits education needed across the work/life cycle and curate communications for moments that matter.
Create and deliver employee and manager facing content using internal and external channels (formats include video, digital, print, webinars, in person presentations, etc.)
Develop a deep understanding of the multiple audiences across our business, and ensure messaging is delivered in the most effective medium for engagement.
Align vendor partners with our communication strategy to enhance external outreach to participants.
Analyze digital platform metrics, employee feedback, and response to communication campaigns to make recommendations for improved engagement.
Update and audit digital communication platforms ensuring that benefits information is up to date and fit for purpose.
Manage the communication consulting relationship and communications budget.
Keep abreast of market trends in benefits communication.
Keep abreast of health & welfare, voluntary, and wellbeing industry trends and benefits legislation.
Participate in benefit strategy discussions regarding marketplace disruptions and legislation that may impact employee benefit plans and recommend communication actions.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in business, human resources, communications, or other related field
7+ years’ experience in benefits administration and communication
CEBS certification or equivalent preferred
Experience with HRIS and or benefits administration systems and proficiency with MS products
Expert at crafting benefits communication in multiple formats (print/digital/video)
Demonstrated skills in transforming complex benefits information into language that is clear, concise, and actionable
Experience managing large employee benefits projects such as open enrollment and benefit program implementation
Knowledge of employee benefits industry practice, trends, administration, and compliance (i.e. ERISA, IRS, FMLA, HIPPA).
Well-developed interpersonal skills and the ability to interact professionally with all levels

Salary
$136k - $150k a year
