This requires us to deliver on our promises and always look for new opportunities to grow, both ourselves and our business. ## Job Purpose Finance Operations, Analyst, FERC Accounting & Reporting is responsible for performing Accounting and Reconciliation for FERC by reviewing, verifying and reconciling accounts. Captures accounting transactions using financial systems. Responsible for identifying and remediating accounting discrepancies to produce accurate and credible financial information. Prepares financial statement analytics and Flux analysis. Prepares Financial Statements in accordance with US GAAP and IFRS accounting standards and ensures timely filing. Provides lead support in preparing FERC reports and financial statements. Utilizes data to review and provide financial information and ensure credible reporting. Reports to the Manager, FERC Accounting & Reporting and is responsible for preparing reports to support Financial Accounting and reporting requirements ## Key Accountabilities + Verifies, reconciles and updates accounts by reviewing discrepancies to produce accurate and credible data. + Performs accrual activities and reconciles FERC transactions. + Prepares records and processes accounting transactions and ensures allocation to appropriate accounts for accurate and credible data. + Supports month-end accounting close process to ensure timely, accurate and complete accrual of financial transactions. + Responsible for completing month-end accounting activities to ensure timely filing and account for any variances. + Reviews accounts and calculates financial adjustments and ensure proper account reconciliation. + Responsible for following US GAAP and other accounting standards. + Assembles and reviews supporting documentation to ensure compliance with audits. + Compiles and reviews financial information to prepare financial statements including monthly and annual accounts. + Ensures maintenance of financial records for compliance with accepted policies and procedures. + Responsible for meeting financial filings and reporting deadlines. + Responsible for supporting financial and non-financial controls to meet business requirements. + Responsible for the preparation of FERC financial statements and statutory filings. + Provides reporting on monthly settlements and statutory filings. + Prepares FERC reports to support IFRS reporting processes. + Prepares non-financial FERC reporting such as statistical reports, EIA, state and regulatory reports. + Responsible for providing reports and filings to meet close processes. + Maintains financial records for compliance with policies and procedures. + Responsible for meeting financial filings and reporting deadlines. + Responsible for supporting financial and non-financial controls to meet business requirements. ## Qualifications Qualifications + General accounting + Utility industry accounting + Process centric operations + FERC policy and procedures + US GAAP, Sarbanes-Oxley and IFRS + Process Management + Month-end close processes + Risk mitigation + FERC Reporting + Financial Reporting + Regulatory reporting and filing + Accuracy and accessibility of financial records + Technical Accounting Qualifications Required: + Minimum Bachelor’s Degree, 2- 3 years in Finance, Accounting and or Financial Reporting with increasing responsibility + Passed CPA Exam preferred + Knowledge of general ledger platforms, SAP, Power Plan and/or other systems experience + Experience working across department and geographic boundaries to lead risk mitigation, the SarbanesOxley Act of 2002 and the COSO Internal Control – Integrated Framework + Experience performing FERC reporting and filing activities + Demonstrated ability to complete accurate and timely reporting + Experience reviewing and resolving data discrepancies + Able to assess accounting issues and recommend solutions + Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines + Excellent written / oral communication skills, follow-up, and negotiation skills + Ability to build and develop teams of multi-skilled financial professional + Background in utility service or similar industry accounting + Experience in reporting and filing requirements + Effective collaboration and partnership capabilities + Excellent written / oral communication skills and follow-up ## More Information This position has a career path which provides for advancement opportunities within and across bands as you develop and evolve in the position; gaining experience, expertise and acquiring and applying technical skills.
