Saw Cutter

Feeney Brothers Utility Services is currently looking for Utility Saw Cutters to join our team. This Utility Saw Cutter will be part of a utility team, working throughout New England operating, and maintaining a walk behind road saw. The biggest challenge of this Utility Saw Cutter position is the physical demands in handling the cutting at job sites while dealing with the New England Elements. This position would be a great building block for you and your family at a well-established and successful organization.

Responsibilities

• Manage and direct helper in the layout and cutting of all types of concrete flatwork

• Verify that the measurements of the cuts are correct and match the work order

• Read and understand customers concrete cut control manuals

• Use proper size blade for the thickness of concrete

• Vacuum slurry from all cuts

• Place barricades and signs on job site in pre-marked locations

• Return barricades to back of curb when saw cutting is complete

• Load and unload equipment and materials

• Motivate others to achieve productivity, quality, and safety goals

• Complete cut sheets and enter saw crew time daily

• Communicate with supervisors daily

• Train others in proper procedures and specifications

• Conduct weekly Tool Box Safety discussions with the assigned crew

• Other duties as requested by supervisors, and foreman

  Education, Skills, Experience Needed

• High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred

• Minimum of 3 years experience with a walk behind road saw for sawing sidewalk, curb and gutter, street paving, handicap ramps and storm drain inlets

• Experience operating both a walk behind

• Commitment to doing quality work while putting safety first

• Ability to maintain awareness working within a traffic control zone

• Knowledge of underground utilities and locator markings

• Ability to interact with public, supervisors, and coworkers professionally at all times

• Ability to think clearly no matter the stress or difficulty of your circumstances.

• Possess a strong work ethic and commitment to excellence

  POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be able to proficiently operate a box truck to transport the saw and support equipment

  • Basic mechanical background with such equipment is preferred, though we will train the right candidate

  • 40 + hours weekly and year round employment
