Eversource Energy Media Relations Internship in Boston, Massachusetts

Goal: Provide education and training to a talented candidate with the goal of developing a potential new hire. The summer intern will focus on producing engaging content and supporting the daily functions of Eversource Media Relations across the three states—especially stories that humanize our workforce and raise awareness for their everyday work in our communities.

The successful candidate has the potential for an extension in the fall

Hybrid Role

Responsibilities

  • Develop content/stories for use across multiple channels, including blog and social media posts, especially unique, human-interest stories
  • Cover corporate events
  • Develop blog posts—especially unique, human-interest stories
  • Produce videos for social media
  • Work closely with Operations Communications, Energy Efficiency, and Gas Operations to develop videos, graphics, and other assets to educate customers
  • Photography and videography
  • Support daily media relations functions

Storm Support

  • Develop stories that highlight storm preparedness and support with storm restoration coverage
  • Develop Instagram stories that highlight key safety messages and the restoration process
  • Work with the graphics team to develop visuals highlighting the restoration process, safety messages, reporting options, and other important information for customers

Skills

  • Digital storytelling: Photography, video production, graphic design
  • Writing, editing, proofreading, grammar, and punctuation
  • Knowledge of social media platforms, specifically Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, and LinkedIn

  • Multitasking and working under tight deadlines
