Idaho Power — located in vibrant Downtown Boise, Idaho — is looking for an Entry Accounts Payable Specialist to join our Accounts Payable team. It’s an exciting time to work for Idaho Power. What does an Entry Accounts Payable Specialist do for us?

Under general supervision, they analyze and process payment documents in an accurate and efficient manner, in accordance with company, state, and federal policies and regulations while meeting deadlines. They research and correct exception transactions, balance daily work, and ensures accurate and complete records are recorded and filed. They also develop procedures for new processes and prepare reports for internal customers as needed.

REQUIRED SKILLS

Knowledge of:

  • Operating standard office equipment, including 10-key, fax, scanner, copier, etc.

  • Personal computer operation, specifically MS Windows, Excel, Outlook, and Word

  • State and federal policies and regulations pertaining to 1099 reporting and the application of sales tax

Skills in:

  • Proper punctuation, spelling, grammar, and proofreading

  • Composing basic correspondence

  • Good proofreading skills

  • Quick and accurate data entry

Preferred:

  • Cost center accounting

  • Sarbanes-Oxley

  • Understanding of trade credit terms

  • Strong time management and organizational skills

  • Teamwork/collaboration

Ability to:

  • Understand and apply basic mathematical calculations and concepts involving fractions, decimals, percentages, etc.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education:

  • High school diploma or GED

Experience:

  • 2 years of relevant work experience

OR

  • Associates Degree in related discipline

Preferred:

  • Demonstrated use of Asset Suite, document management systems and/or SQL

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

This position requires working at a desk/computer for extended periods of time. It requires the use of office equipment, fine motor skills including typing on the computer, dialing phones, filing paper, and working in close proximity to other people. There may be occasional lifts of no more than 10 lbs. The above is a summary of the primary essential functions of the position.
