Position Specific Description

This position will support the Power Generation Division West Region Solar & Storage fleet and will be based out of the Arlington, Blythe, and McCoy Solar and Energy Storage cluster in Blythe, CA.

This is a senior-level role that will serve as an electrical safe work practices champion with a focus on coaching technicians in the field.

Other responsibilities of this role include providing safety mentorship to new hires, serving as an electrical switching train-the-trainer, and other functions to support daily O&M activities.

Job Overview

This role performs advanced maintenance, troubleshooting and repairs on solar and energy storage assets and associated equipment. Individuals understand the process and functionality of all electrical components associated with solar inverters, battery management systems, fire protection systems, air conditioning systems, supervisory control and data acquisition systems, control networks and programable logic controllers. Individuals will be a subject matter expert in proper utilization of electrical safe work practices. This position will also be a regional electrical safe work practices subject matter expert and provide coaching to other technicians on electrical safe work practices.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Performs corrective maintenance and repairs on solar and energy storage power generation equipment

  • Conducts advanced electrical, electronic, and network troubleshooting

  • Applies advanced understanding of technical process to improve equipment capabilities

  • Provides electrical safe work practices coaching

  • Serves as qualified reliever in the absence of site management

  • Leads teams in Quality Improvement (QI) projects

  • Provides oversight to other personnel and acts as a Safety Mentor

  • Completes special projects or complex task assignments

  • Collaborates with cross functional teams to incorporate equipment updates

  • Documents work execution and field changes utilizing Maximo

  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • High School Grad / GED

  • Experience: 4+ years

  • Valid Driver's License (NON CDL)

  • Six Sigma Yellow Belt Certified

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Equivalent Experience

  • Six Sigma Green Belt Certified
