This position will be in the Eastern Operations Division of Generation Department. The successful candidate will support the outage and maintenance requirements across a diverse fleet of generation assets by developing plans, identifying necessary resources and providing cost estimates and options for the maintenance of generation facilities. This position will also support Generation’s Asset Management Policy, which calls for Generation to invest in, maintain, and safely operate assets to meet reliability standards, optimize availability resource adequacy requirements, efficiency, environmental requirements, and safety and security standards while optimizing customer value.
Works as senior staff expert to address operational understanding and experience to external and internal parties. Resolve questions from internal groups regarding the impact of decisions by others on the AOR.
Serve as back-up to Supervisors at assigned generating assets.
Prepare, coordinate and manage to completion all maintenance work orders for assigned generating assets.
Collaborate with respective supervisors to clearly identify work, prioritize work based on regulatory, safety and reliability considerations and ensure all work is completed in a timely manner.
Serve as key interface and operational expert with regulatory agencies and engineering for critical, specialized projects.
Manage the operational impacts of decisions, implement corrective actions, and coordinate with Operators, Hydrographers and Supervision to ensure all aspects of engineering upgrades are sustainable from an O&M perspective.
Seven years of operating or maintenance related experience in a hydro or fossil fuel generation facility
Experience working with Enterprise Asset Management applications such as SAP, Maximo, IVARA, etc, in support of work.
Bachelor Degree or an equivalent amount of education, training and experience.
Eight or more years’ experience as a planner in substation, transmission, distribution, telecommunication, or generation facility.
Experience managing several projects concurrently, adjusting to shifting priorities, and meeting deadlines.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and SAP knowledge.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to gather and analyze information and make sound decisions independently and in consideration of applicable policies and procedures.
Demonstrated ability to take initiative and be accountable for the accuracy of information and for achieving results.
