Otter Tail Corporation Mechanical Engineer Intern in Big Stone, South Dakota

Description

Otter Tail Power Company is currently seeking qualified student applicants to fill one position for Mechanical Engineer Intern at Big Stone Plant from May through August 2022.

The Mechanical Engineer Intern will provide assistance to Plant Engineering in the following areas:

  • Plant systems performance analysis

  • Plant systems modification cost/benefit analysis

  • Sub system Mechanical/Civil design

  • Electronic print updates

The position requires excellent written communication skills and attention to detail in order to publish accurate study reports and provide accurate drawing updates. Furthermore, the role also requires strong oral communication skills used in working with plant staff and outside contractors and equipment vendors.

Looking for students in the mechanical engineering program with an emphasis in Power Plant engineering. The applicant must have proficient computer skills with various software applications in Microsoft such as Word, Excel, and Access. In addition, the applicant must be proficient in the use of Autodesk AutoCad software.
