Summary

This position is a direct report to the PSEGLI Manager of IT Product Planning & Implementation The Solution Architect is responsible for the design of technology solutions in support of core business functions by evaluating end user needs, client goals, budgets and existing applications to define system requirements and technical standards. These IT position will support different line of business within PSEG such us Transmission & Distribution, Customer Operations, and Enterprise systems.

Required Education & Experience:

Bachelor degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering, with a minimum 8 years of professional experience within the information technology field or an industry with reliance on technical expertise

Required Skills and Competencies:

Knowledge and experience with designing of technology solutions in support of core business functions by evaluating end user needs, client goals, budgets and existing applications to define system requirements and technical standards for business systems and how they align with user needs.

Technical knowledge of software & hardware solutions used in large enterprises including Cloud, SaaS, PaaS and IaaS solutions; Solution architecture experience with proven experience designing solutions for core business functions; Experience with designing software & hardware solutions used in large enterprises including Cloud, SaaS, PaaS and IaaS solutions; Proven experience with aligning project solutions to overall corporate enterprise architecture; Work and communicate with a wide range of people – peers, vendors, staff members, broader functional and business leadership, and others. Consistently demonstrate professional, positive, and approachable attitude, demeanor and discretion; Ability to manage multiple medium -large sized projects ensuring solutions align with enterprise architecture

This position requires driving to company locations and off-site assignments and events, applicants must possess a valid driver’s license with a safe and satisfactory driver history.

Preferred Education Skills & Competencies:

  • At least 8 years of experience in leading solution architecture and design efforts related to transformational programs preferably in Energy & Utilities industries.

  • Expertise in Transmission & Distribution Systems, AMI, Smart Grid and/or OMS Integration projects including System Integration and Business Transformation

  • At least 3 years of experience in one or more of the following focus areas: AMI, Smart Grid, OMS/DMS/EMS/GIS, Work and Asset Management

  • At least 5 years of experience in a minimum of three of the following:

  • Solution Strategy Development

  • Business Requirements Definition

  • System Integratin Model Development

  • Business Prcess Definition

  • Data Architecture and Governance

  • Enterprise Level Logical Data Modeling

As an employee of PSE&G or PSEG Long Island, you should be aware that during storm restoration efforts, you may be required to perform functions outside of your routine duties and on a schedule that may be different from normal operations.
