Eversource Energy Director, Emergency Preparedness Logistics and Resource Acquisition in Berlin, Connecticut
Role and Scope of Position:
Lead and manage the development of an effective and comprehensive logistics response program. This individual is responsible for ensuring the logistical and resource needs of the company are met prior to, during, and after an emergency, including planning and aligning the resources of the operating companies.
Essential Functions:
- Ensures all logistical needs are in a state of readiness, including Stores, Transportation, Environmental, food & lodging, facilities, resource acquisition, mutual aid, storm technology, temporary staging, and satellite areas.
- Fills the role of State Logistic Chief when required.
- Develops practical solutions to support the emergency plan.
- Ensures contractual agreements, purchase orders, and procedures are in place to execute logistics and resource acquisition in support of emergency operations.
- Overseas the invoice review and payment process to ensure all payments are prudent and made in a timely manner post storm.
- Represents Eversource at national and regional mutual assistance organization and ensures resources are secured through the mutual aid process.
- Coordinates resource needs with the State Incident Commanders and Resource Chiefs.
- Oversees the Emergency Resource Support Group to coordinate, secure and allocate resources during emergency events.
- Conducts site visits and determines unique requirements for each location (area work centers, staging areas, mutual aid on-boarding locations).
- Develops /ensures emergency contingency contracts to support emergency response.
- Builds partnerships with other emergency management professionals, especially in the areas of logistics planning.
- Initiates, develops, and maintains relationships for companywide storm vendors across the nation.
- Develops standard logistical processes and procedures to support electric and gas business units.
- Coordinates the activation and allocation of the domicile fleet and mobile response vehicles and equipment.
- Develops and executes training, workshops, drills, and exercises to ensure readiness of the Logistics and Resource Acquisition Roles.
- Provides direction to direct report(s).
Technical Knowledge/Skill/Education/Licenses/Certifications:
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree or the equivalent experience
- Master’s degree in Emergency Management or equivalent preferred
Experience :
- Minimum of twelve (12) years of experience. Emergency Preparedness and response experience desirable. Logistics experience strongly preferred.

Working Conditions:
- Must be available to work emergency restoration assignment as required.
- Must be available to travel between MA/CT/NH as necessary.
