Equitrans Midstream Corrosion Technician/Sr in Belmont, Ohio

We have an exciting opportunity for a Corrosion Technician/Sr in our Belmont, OH location. This role performs moderate and occasionally highly complex corrosion related tasks and projects requiring the application of standard techniques, procedures and criteria. Routine technical and operations assignments completed independently.

Your tasks and responsibilities include:

  • Maintains a safe operating environment

  • Conducts required surveys and completes accurate records on DOT regulated pipelines

  • Assists in ensuring required pipeline and facility surveillances and inspections are completed on time. Maintains all required records for the district.

  • Conducts tests on bare pipelines to identify condition of line. Submits recommendations to rectify deficiencies to gain compliance.

  • Conducts bi-monthly and annual inspections on rectifiers and interference bonds. Troubleshoots and corrects problems, as needed.

  • Tests all aboveground piping annually for atmospheric corrosion, including compressor station piping.

  • Conducts inspections and maintains recordkeeping for both external and internal corrosion reports from leak repairs

  • Provides inspection on DOT reportable pipeline construction projects

  • Conducts tests to identify electrical interference problems on cathode protection systems and corrects, as needed

  • Assists on compliance projects as requested

  • May perform other duties in a higher classification under supervision

  • Basic knowledge of computer software packages and equipment. Basic knowledge of mathematics and electricity. Basic knowledge of CFR 49, Part 192. Our senior corrosion technicians should have specific knowledge of corrosion control equipment; i.e. volt meters, rectifiers, pipeline locaters, ultrasonic thickness gauges. Specific knowledge on conducting corrosion surveys. Ability to troubleshoot cathodic protection systems.

  • At times, this role requires both planned and unplanned travel to field and other Equitrans locations. There may be instances when travel is necessary outside of the core working hours. As a result, the incumbent must be able to work flexible hours and travel to our various operating locations, as necessary.

  • A high school diploma or GED. Equivalent combination of education and experience is acceptable.

  • 3+ years of combined experience in corrosion and natural gas industry for the corrosion technician position. Our senior technicians have at least 5 years of experience

  • NACE CP1 or CIP 1 within the first year. Appalachian Underground Corrosion Short Course (AUCSC) - through Advanced level, to be completed within (3) three years from employment

  • Ability to pass a physical capabilities test (which includes, but is not limited to lifting and carrying 70 lbs., walking 1/2 mile at various inclines, etc.) to demonstrate the physical ability to perform the essential functions of this job.

The anticipated salary range for this position is $37.21/hour to $43.49/hour plus a total rewards package that includes:
