Essential Functions:

  • Performs preventive maintenance on wind turbine mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems.

  • Performs wind turbine mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems troubleshooting and repairs.

  • Performs removal and installation of wind turbine & energy storage mechanical, electrical and hydraulic components.

  • Assists with wind turbine controller maintenance and repair.

  • Assists with high-voltage system maintenance and repair.

  • Assists with heavy equipment (crane) rigging and directing.

  • Assists in training of Turbine Technician employees.

  • Interfaces closely with Project Supervisors.

  • Completes required reports and other paperwork, some of which may require computer entry.

  • Maintains adherence to Company policies, safety standards and good housekeeping practices.

  • Maintains proper care of Company tools and vehicles.

Educational Qualifications:

  • High School diploma required.

  • Knowledge in a Technical Trade, Maintenance, Electrical, Instrumentation and/or Operations is strongly preferred.

  • Certificate and/or Associates of Applied Science in Wind Turbine Technology are a huge plus.

Technical Qualifications :

  • Ability to work in mechanically and electrically oriented situations.

  • Previous equivalent related experience and/or as the Company may determine to be an appropriate skill level.

  • Successful completion of all training, education courses and/or skill level testing required by the Company for entry into this position.

  • Ability to perform routine preventive maintenance on turbine mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems.

  • Ability to detect defects and perform repairs to turbine mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems.

  • Ability to perform repairs to wind turbine controllers under direction.

  • Ability to perform maintenance and repairs to wind project high-voltage systems under direction.

  • Ability to direct and rig heavy equipment (cranes).

  • Intermediate skill in the use of personal computers (i.e., Windows environment, word processing and spreadsheet applications).

  • Knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions for this position.

  • Skill in the care and use of tools and equipment utilized for this position.

  • Must demonstrate strong interpersonal, leadership, organizational and decision-making skills.

  • Regular attendance is required.

Licenses, Certificates, Registrations:

  • Must maintain a valid State driver's license.
