Southern Nuclear, headquartered in Birmingham, AL, operates Southern Company's six nuclear reactors at three locations in Georgia and Alabama: two reactors at Plant Vogtle, near Waynesboro, GA; two reactors at Plant Hatch, near Baxley, GA; and two reactors at Plant Farley, near Dothan, AL. In addition, construction of two new reactors is ongoing at our Plant Vogtle location. As a member of the Southern Nuclear Company HR Talent Management team, this position will assist in the development of company-wide talent management processes and programs as well as providing consultative support to your specific site’s HR team and leadership around site-specific talent management programs and needs. This role truly influences plant strategy and outcomes by building positive working relationships with the company-wide talent team and your site-specific leadership team.
The Talent Management Consultant is responsible for ongoing leadership consulting in the following key areas:
Leadership & employee development and continuous training
Succession planning & talent review processes
Assessment of organizational talent development needs, workforce planning, and effectiveness interventions.
Working as a team of company-wide Business Partners, to design and develop talent management initiatives to include (but not limited to) leadership and employee development, mentoring, teambuilding, assessments, succession planning and talent review processes. Responsible for implementing these processes at your individual location by consulting with plant leaders and guiding their engagement.
Through effective consulting, implement the company-wide mentoring strategy for your location’s high potential talent, including engaging with leaders on assignment management and program delivery training.
Partnering with site leadership, company-wide talent management business partners, and the training department assess, identify and implement continuous training for all levels of leadership.
Using company-wide tools, identify, facilitate and oversee leadership and team assessments for effective teambuilding and to inform selections and succession planning.
Research (using internal and external resources), recommend and offer best practice solutions through client consulting interventions in support of talent management deliverables.
Deliver supporting data, analytics and reports on talent management initiatives and outcomes to drive and influence program design and delivery and process enhancements
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Psychology, Organizational Development or related field, preferred.
3 years successful experience in Talent Management, Organizational Development or related field, preferred.
Demonstrated experience with assessing, identifying and deploying organizational development interventions.
Demonstrated knowledge of organizational effectiveness principles and management and leadership development principles.
Proven project management, consulting and facilitation experience.
Proven critical thinking skills, problem solving skills and the ability to use analytics to identify trends and implications relevant to talent management.
Proven experience consulting with decision makers at all organizational levels.
