Our team of skilled professional, from mid-level engineers to senior technical expert, have experience in applicable process technologies, program management, conceptual and detailed design engineering, and construction management.JOB TITLE: Electrical Engineer, NorthStar Energy Services is seeking a skilled, and enthusiastic Engineer to join our Engineering Consulting team. The successful candidate will work alongside an experienced team of professional engineers and designers who specialize in Energy Projects.
What You'll Do
POSITION SUMMARY: The Engineer for this position will be responsible for the development of design parameters including power system design, engineering specification, equipment and instrumentation specifications, equipment selections, code interpretations and analysis as it pertains to the design of Energy Facilities.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
ENGINEERING
Electrical
Perform engineering analysis/calculations and facilitate design activities, with some oversight, necessary to successfully execute the following Electrical elements:
Arc Flash/Short Circuit Studies
Protective Relay Coordination Studies
Electrical System Modeling utilizing ETAP
Interconnect Wiring Diagrams
Motor Control Schematics
Application of Variable Frequency Drives (VFD)
One-Line Diagrams
Conduit/Cable Schedules
Conduit Design (AG, BG)
Point-to-Point Wiring Diagrams
Lighting Design
Equipment Grounding Design
Electrical Equipment Specifications
Electrical Load Analysis
Familiarity and experience in the application of the following codes/standards is helpful in this role.

DELIVERABLE MANAGEMENT
Participate in quality review of drawings to ensure compliance with safety-first design practices, company standards and applicable industry codes.
Coordinate and communicate project-specific deliverables with team members of all disciplines.
Research, review, and design integration of Company Standards, Municipality Requirements, and Regulatory Codes as it pertains to project deliverables.
Perform QA/QC of drawing deliverables.
Review other discipline deliverables to ensure design is properly executed and aligns with project objectives.
Perform field related work to obtain design pertinent information as needed.
Review and respond to project RFI’s throughout project-life.
Review third-party vendor drawings to ensure compatibility with intended design.
Experience in field site assessments

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering
Work Experience 1-10 years
Candidate will ideally have experience with the following software:
ETAP, SKM, or equivalent
AutoCAD
Microsoft Office Suite
Experience in midstream energy or petrochemical sector - preferred
