Nuclear Fuel Services Test Facility Technician in Barberton, Ohio

Test Facility Technician - BWX Technologies, Inc. - Barberton, OH

Responsibilities include:

  • The test facility technician will be required to undertake a multitude of tasks, as workload demands shift.

  • Design, development, maintenance, and construction of experimental flow test loops and fabrication of tooling/fixturing for production use

  • The technician will be relied upon to help design new flow loops, or modify existing to meet customer specifications.

  • The technician will also assist in procurement of required hardware. Maintenance of existing test facility flow loops is required.

  • When not testing the technician will fabricate and machine production tooling to support the fabrication shop.

    Experience/Requirements:

  • T he ideal candidate will have two plus years' experience with a test laboratory environment, have machining capability, and excel in manual welding. ASME certified welder or technical schooling is a plus.

  • Educational experience is acceptable

  • Ability to operate small manual and CNC machine tools (lathe, mill, shear)

  • Manual welding of carbon steel, inconel, and stainless steel

  • Read and interpret mechanical drawings

  • Assemble process piping

  • Perform rigging and lifting of complex components weighing up to 10 tons

  • Perform maintenance of pumps as large as 1750 hp.

  • Obtain and record critical as-built measurements for test components. Dimensional certification is a plus.

  • Required to be familiar with basic PC use, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
