Exelon VP Cloud & IT Infrastructure Operations in BALTIMORE, Maryland

Primary Purpose

Lead the IT wide operations of IT’s platforms and networks to ensure reliable, cost effective and efficient services are provided to meet business needs. Provide support for all corporate, enterprise and business unit specific systems and IT platforms. Manage and coordinate all internal and cloud (external) hosting functions. Partner with IT and business unit leadership in the development and implementation of enterprise-wide IT strategy. Coordinate with IT and business unit leaders to provide Disaster Recovery and contingency plans for critical business functions across Exelon. Lead the operational support and incident coordination for all enterprise and business unit specific systems and platforms. Govern the NERC CIP compliance function for IT Infrastructure across Exelon. Manage the operational reliability of Exelon’s corporate network and Exelon’s corporate Help Desk. Manage a large team of information technology professionals responsible for technical support of the IT infrastructure, hardware maintenance, patch management, information security, change management, wide and local area networks, server infrastructure, disaster recovery and 24x7 data center and network operations at multiple sites in multiple states. Financial responsibility for budget and operations of approximately $150 million annually, including responsibility for the management of several large outsourcing contracts.

Primary Duties & Accountabilities

-Strategy: Partner with IT and business leadership to develop and implement IT strategic plans aligned with Exelon’s overall strategy and target architecture to enable Exelon’s business unit strategy and objectives. Maintain awareness of technology improvements and operational excellence best practices that drive continuous improvement opportunities related to Exelon’s business units and their IT solutions. Provide governance and oversight for all IT central ops, network ops, platform ops and regulatory standards.

-Operations: Lead and plan the day-to-day execution of infrastructure and cloud operations, policies, processes and support. Partner with Exelon business and IT leaders to identify and implement effective enterprise-wide operational improvements that are cost effective, efficient and aligned with the needs of Exelon. Coordinate incident and issue resolution across IT and Exelon business units for critical IT functions. Maintain awareness of best practices and production trends, assess their potential impact on operational outcomes, and develop and execute plans to adapt operations to capture the improvements over the long range plan horizon. Identify and monitor key performance indicators, recommend and implement corrective action. Provide the regulatory governance and oversight surrounding Exelon’s on premise and cloud infrastructure.

-Staffing/Organization: Attract and retain qualified I/T resources in support of Exelon’s long-term IT needs. Evaluate performance and support the development of IT personnel. Promote diversity and foster teamwork, collaboration and a learning organization. Support Business Talent Review activities, including ensuring development and readiness of talent pipeline.

-Vendor/Supplier Relations: Build, foster and maintain high level relationships with key IT partners/vendors/suppliers serving Exelon IT. Ensure effective engagement through Exelon Supply resources in support of contracting for evolving business requirements and strategy, including actively working to influence vendor direction to meet Exelon’s immediate and long-term needs; Ensure timely and effective engagement with vendors to resolve emergent issues when appropriate. Manage several large outsourcing contracts

-Financial Management: Oversee and manage a baseline technology spend and associated financial management responsibilities for IT Delivery in the range of $125 million annually.

Minimum:

Minimum:

•Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline (e.g. Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics or other core science disciplines)

•At least fifteen years experience in Information Technology with recent experience leading a large organization at the key manager level

•Experience leading large operational teams with responsibility for IT infrastructure environments within large scale enterprises

•Demonstrated capability to think conceptually, develop and execute strategic plans, and expertise in facilitating change across large scale enterprise functions.

•Advanced communications skills and presentation skills.

•Demonstrated capability to communicate strategic and highly complex technical information to audiences of all levels in a way that establishes credibility, persuades, and provides context for key decisions.

Preferred:

•Experience sourcing IT functions and infrastructure

•Graduate degree in Information Systems or related discipline or MBA.
