Exelon Technical Analyst IT - BGE Customer Support (CC&B) in BALTIMORE, Maryland
This is an individual contributor position that works under minimal supervision and performs routine and non-routine work. This position is responsible for all aspects of designing, developing, deploying and maintaining applications. Mentors less experienced colleagues and consultants.
Position will be involved in activities of support and projects that impact customer technology platforms, such as CIMS, CC&B, and SAP. Performs and/or manages activities relating to planning, gathering common business requirements, designing, building, and maintaining high quality solutions, products and processes. Additional work around coding practices and methodologies, technical architecture and hardware systems sizing and analysis will be required.
Position may require working extended hours and/or shift work to support the Customer applications and meet assignment deliverables.
Duties and responsibilities:
Undertakes complex assignments and/or projects requiring additional specialized technical knowledge and develops practical, workable, and cost-effective solutions to business problems to satisfy client requirements. Frequently provides assistance/mentors less experienced personnel.
Maintain and enhance engagement with business, IT partners and other stakeholders. Consults and/or actively participates in the management and optimization of computing resources which could involve multiple functional areas.
Establish positive team environment by proactively assisting and training less experienced personnel. Provide performance and development feedback as required.
Effectively researches, analyzes, and identifies current and emerging technology trends/products/concepts that can improve the team’s or client’s business process.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline and typically 5 to 8 years experience in maintaining CIS applications or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
Appropriate technical skills to analyze data and evaluate solutions. Design, build and test applications.
Strong knowledge of business practices and processes in Customer Information Systems.
Strong problem solving and analysis ability
Excellent communications skills (written and verbal)
Ability to work with remote project teams
Utilize understanding of customer's business needs to determine requirements
Applies technical expertise to plan, design, build or support required products and processes. These include:
SQL and SQLDeveloper
Cobol (at least reading it)
CC&B Configuration Tools (i.e. scripting in Xpath)
HTML / XML
Familiarity with CC&B Framework
Help other team members learn appropriate theories, practices and principles that relate to their skill set portfolio
As assigned, manage working relationship with outsourcing partners
