Expected salary range of $136,000 to $170,000 , varies based on experience, along with comprehensive benefits package that includes bonus and 401(k).

PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION

The Manager, Market Fundamentals will be responsible for leading a team in understanding energy market conditions, tracking and evaluating programs and regulations at the Federal, State, and RTO/ISO levels while developing insightful forecasts and analytics detailing impacts of key trends. The role will cover regional power markets as well as working with various groups across Constellation to evaluate the effects of energy demand, commodity prices, current and proposed environmental regulations, renewable energy and emerging technologies, and conventional capacity additions and retirements on the energy markets. The objective of the role is to prepare Constellation to compete in a rapidly changing business environment while developing people with the expertise to provide the analytics for the company to make informed decisions.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Leads oversight, employee performance management and development, and metrics for direct reports in Market Fundamentals.

  • Identifies market drivers and ensuring these are incorporated into short and long-term forecasts.

  • Coordinates views of market developments with key stakeholders throughout Constellation.

  • Communicates market dynamics to a wider audience across all parts of Constellation, including senior leadership.

  • Aligns research and analysis with Constellation's commercial and strategic focus.

  • Works closely with other members of the Market Fundamental, Trading, Portfolio Management, Structuring, Public Policy, Sustainability, Risk, and other teams to ensure consistent and coordinated analysis.

  • Leads development and management of models and data used in fundamental forecasting and analysis.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Undergraduate degree in finance, economics, mathematics, science or engineering or equivalent experience.

  • Eight years of experience in forecasting, analytics, and research with three years of energy experience.

  • Experience with understanding all aspects of the energy markets including power, capacity, and emissions markets, generating capacity, electricity demand, energy and environmental policies at various levels, new and emerging technologies, fuels, and transmission.

  • Proven leader and self-starter with good judgment and strong management skills.

  • Ability to create practical solutions to complex problems where the concepts may be abstract.

  • Ability to connect multiple work streams and strategic initiatives.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; demonstrate the ability to effectively communicate complex recommendations to a variety of audiences including senior leadership.

  • Ability to model energy markets, which can include production cost, load forecasting, LCOE, etc. in order to provide the organization with valuable analytics and recommendations.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • MBA or other relevant graduate degree.

  • 10+ years of experience evaluating the impacts of markets, including the use of production cost and/or economic modeling.
