Exelon Director, Real Estate & Facilities in BALTIMORE, Maryland

Primary Purpose of Position

Position leads a team of professionals responsible for planning and strategy, real estate transactions, property management, and project & occupancy management. Exercises leadership and develops and sustains a high level of employee commitment among staff. Directs business planning process and related programs and initiatives to optimize the usefulness and value of Exelon’s non-utility real estate portfolio and upgrades the delivery of real estate and corporate facilities services.

Primary Duties and Accountabilities

Directs the performance of the BSC Real Estate organization, including staffing, business planning, budget performance, risk management, service level agreements, and forecasting. Provides support as needed by direct reports to overcome barriers, whether internal to the organization or external, in order to achieve performance goals.

Develop and manage business relationships with senior management, operating companies, regional management and service providers to define requirements, operational needs, occupancy plans and workplace strategies to support and execute on company goals & objectives. Maintains ongoing dialogue with senior management to understand current long-term objectives and directional changes shaping the Company’s business plans.

Leads an ongoing process for developing, updating and implementing a comprehensive strategy for optimizing the value and usage of Exelon’s non-utility real estate and facilities and that establishes the decision-making framework for all programs and initiatives that impact the Exelon non-utility real estate and facilities portfolio. Recommends real estate and facilities strategy and planning initiatives to senior management for approval.

Oversees development and implementation of department business initiatives e.g. standardized enterprise-wide system for reporting real estate and facilities data to support benchmarking and ongoing planning and strategy development, BSC Real Estate management model and adherence to policies and standards, etc.

Remains current on trends and developments in the industry and ensures that planning and strategy reflect best corporate real estate practices.

Consults with the operating company Real Estate & Facilities leaders and staff to facilitate alignment between real estate and facilities practices and strategic goals.

Minimum:

Bachelor degree in business discipline (finance, accounting, management, etc.);Advanced degree preferred

12 or more years of real estate and staff management experience, including proven team performance management skills.

Extensive business and transactional experience, including real estate and finance transactions and analysis.

Demonstrated ability to oversee the development of process enhancements and efficiencies that involve the effective use of technology and drive performance improvement.

Demonstrated success in meeting challenging business goals in a leadership role, by delivering effective solutions in a corporate setting.

Proven ability to build consensus, establish trust, and communicate effectively with leadership, internal clients, employees, and external parties, e.g. service providers, landlords, municipalities, etc.
