Your Impact at SAM
The nature of this role is to help prevent damages. The Damage Prevention Specialist works as a liaison to the homeowner and/or contractor and the gas company.
Practice safe dig practices in accordance to 811 dig law
Visit active job sites in a company provided vehicle to communicate to contractors or homeowners about safe dig practices in accordance to 811 dig law
Facilitate gas marking corrections and updates as needed
Provide quality checks on utility markings
Accurately complete detailed documentation of daily activities
Assist in identifying marked utilities, structures and maps and in the field
Perform operator level maintenance on assigned company tools and equipment as required
Other tasks as assigned
What You Bring to SAM
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Technology or job experience related equivalence
3 to 5 years’ experience in managing servers with demonstrated experience in maintaining applications in a secure data center environment
Successful as a key contributor in at least 1 large projects
Large projects are defined as having more than 5 participants, a budget of over $250k or a timeline of 4 months or longer
Personally responsible for the build, implementation and maintenance of over 30 servers
Personally responsible for the build, implementation and maintenance of over 200 desktops
Knowledge of VMware, Microsoft Exchange, Active Directory, backups software, storage, PowerShell and scripting
Knowledge of Azure, AWS, and other cloud platforms
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate with both technical and non-technical groups
Professional with a “Customer Service” attitude
Motivate and results oriented with an ability to respond quickly in a dynamic environment
MCSA preferred
ITIL foundations certification preferred
Any other technology certifications a plus
