One Gas Manager, Commercial Projects in Austin, Texas
Division-wide, supervise, manage, and/or direct employees performing project management and various technical duties related to strategic growth and customer-related emerging projects. Direct and coordinate all project management for customer related growth and relocation capital projects. Build and maintain relationships with developers, builders, customers and customer prospects requiring pipeline and/or new service installation. Identify, report and monitor key projects for success.
Develop, plan, coordinate, project manage and monitor residential, commercial, industrial customer projects and growth opportunities state-wide.
Develop, plan and manage the state growth initiatives for strategic system growth, territory expansion and acquisitions.
Oversee and growth capital planning.
Work with Operations, Engineering and Resource Management to identify and resolve resource constraints while meeting customer timelines and installation needs. Exercise cost control, determining whether projects are bid, constructed via blanket contractors or local pipeline installation contractors (PIC) for distribution and transmission work. Assist Resource Management in evaluating and selecting awarding of bids.
Manage and direct customer related project management teams. Evaluate emerging opportunities, identifying project sensitivities, resource needs, capital requirements and logistics for service. Develop and maintain programs along with an intake process that emphasizes project detail completeness and enhances project management success.
Manage, expand, improve and direct employees communicating strategic growth programs including but not limited to:
Fuel switching to natural gas and conversion programs
Line extension programs
Gas appliances programs and use of gas-fired equipment
Energy conservation programs
Meter set programs
Develop, implement, and coordinate programs to improve the quality of service provided to customers.
Advise and assist customers, manufacturers, distributors, builders/developers, educators, state and local officials, plumbers, HVAC contractors, vendors, and others regarding gas equipment, company policies and procedures, strategic growth programs, tariffs, unbundling, and deregulation issues.
Represent company through active participation in industry organizations and civic and community activities.
Research, calculate, evaluate and/or prepare information and reports including but not limited to:
Project investment recommendations
Venture opportunity analysis and recommendation
Acquisition opportunity and analysis
Line extension agreements
Actively coach, develop and mentor direct reports through the establishment of individual development plans. Develops team plans to drive performance results, enhance overall leadership competencies, business performance and enhance collaboration across work groups.

Bachelor's Degree Bachelor's degree in business administration, construction management, engineering, marketing, or other related field with previous experience in project management and/or growth strategy, or an equivalent combination of formal education and the following job-related experience.
Extensive experience and thorough knowledge of functions, policies, and procedures related to relevant functions and programs such as strategic growth initiatives, land development, civil planning, architectural, mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP), and marketing.
Experience in economic and financial modeling, including revenue requirement, NPV, IRR, ROE, and ROI calculations, among others.
Experience monitoring and analyzing needs in residential, commercial, and industrial customer sectors and developing strategies.
Experience in use and function of geographic information system (GIS) software, Dynamics (CRM), Visio, Microsoft Project, Microsoft Office and other web based platforms and datasets as applicable to position. Experience in evaluating large datasets and spatial analyses beneficial.
Application of math and algebraic formulas.

Knowledge of operating and customer service field activities as they relate to strategic growth programs.

Experience monitoring and evaluating company policies and procedures and recommending and implementing appropriate changes.
Demonstrated ability to read and write fluently in English.
Applicable driver's license for travel between office locations and to job sites within region.
Mobility to travel in and around office surroundings, job sites, and customers' residences; also requires airline travel out of state to meet with customers and attend industry meetings and/or training.
Operate tools and equipment required.
Communicate and/or exchange information; conduct oral presentations.
Sufficient to perform job duties.
