Job Summary
The Fleet Supervisor is responsible for having knowledge of the vehicle and equipment service industry and is familiar with the operating rules and regulations of a commercial fleet. The Fleet Supervisor will work with other department employees and management to aid in optimizing equipment utilization, minimize idle equipment and assemble reports on recommended disposal of assets.
Responsibilities
Manage the ongoing maintenance and repair of the company assets within an assigned region or area including locating qualified third-party vendors, managing, reviewing, and approving major repairs, and assisting and scheduling emergency roadside repairs as needed.
Direct and manage the workflow of shop and field mechanics.
Perform evaluations of equipment condition and performance related to application and lifecycle.
Monitor, evaluates, and reports retired and idle equipment to the fleet department.
Review and audit regional DOT required documentation including, roadside inspections, work orders, daily vehicle inspection reports (DVIRs), asset licenses, and registration documentation.
Supervise the preventative maintenance program for all fleet vehicles and equipment.
Utilize the GPS application to prepare and provide weekly, monthly, quarterly, and yearly reports that include statistical data ranging from fuel usage, maintenance cost, vehicle acquisitions status and DOT safety score.
Provide support to the field operations and service vendors including warranty recoveries, technical information, locating qualified vendors, and dispute resolution.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
5 years of fleet experience, with 1 year in a supervisory role.
Ability to travel as needed.
Preferred
Bachelor's degree.
6 or more years of experience, with 2 years in a supervisory role.

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copiers, and scanners.
