Manage, direct and coordinate the IUSA Energy Control Center system
operations functions responsible for maintaining the safety,
reliability, and security of the IUSA electric & gas transmission and
distribution systems. Oversee the use of the Energy Control System
(ECS) and Gas SCADA System; emergency backup center; and ancillary
systems. Consistent with the Director and Directing Manager strategy, is
responsible for overall administration and leadership, budget
management, personnel decisions and direction of the Energy Control
Center system operations department staff.
MAJOR ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Scope of work - range of
- Direct, plan, schedule, review and appraise the work of
subordinates. Provide direction and assistance in personnel issues and
decisions. Provide direction, oversight, technical guidance & expertise,
and assistance to staff during normal electric and gas system
operations, electric and gas emergencies, and incident investigations
- Manages department budget and all administrative activities and
ensures achievement of departmental and company goals. Ensures
compliance with applicable operating rules, regulations, policies,
procedures and guidelines during system normal and emergency conditions
- Determines operational practices, procedures and methods and
resolve problems as required. Confer with management on major system
changes, maintenance projects or projects involving material changes to
the electric systems to maintain a secure system and provide reliable
- Provide direction and assistance to operations staff during
electric and gas system emergencies. Prepare reports on system
disturbances for management and regulatory agencies (20%,P).
- May represent Company on various operating committees responsible
for reliability and safety (10%,S).
Skills and Requirements
Bachelors degree or greater in technical discipline, and 3 years of
supervisory (functional accepted) and control room related experience;
An Associates degree in technical discipline, and 5 years of supervisory
(functional accepted) and control room related experience; or
A High School Diploma, and 10 years of supervisory (functional accepted)
and control room related experience.
