The role of Lead Analyst Financial Reporting is to assist in the reporting and analysis of CMP Operations Construction results by providing project data to Operational Leadership. The primary goal is to support the Distribution Project Managers and Distribution and Transmission Supervisors in order to achieve operational and financial objectives. The ideal candidate should possess advanced Excel skills; have a strong working knowledge of the Avangrid budgeting process, the ability to communicate complex concepts to management and a working knowledge of the Regulatory environment. This role will be responsible for reporting and analyzing capital and operational expenses for the CMP distribution and transmission Operations construction team.
MAJOR ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Scope of work - range of responsibilities):
•Prepares and analyzes monthly, quarterly and annual capital and operational financial reporting for Management review.
•Analyze expense trends by cost activity and provide recommendations to Operational Management.
•Research various budgetary issues on a project basis.
•Ensure reporting aligns with Regulatory and Accounting standards.
•Develop and work within existing financial models to assist in the budgeting and forecasting process.
•Work with the Distribution Project Managers to improve project management processes through training and other initiatives.
Support the Distribution and Transmission Project Managers and Supervisors with cost and schedule reporting.
Support the Distribution and Transmission Project Managers and Supervisors with procurement processes.
Skills and Requirements
•Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Finance or Accounting with a minimum of 3 years relevant
experience preferred. Associates Degree with a minimum of 5 years relevant experience
Strong analytical skills.
Able to work affectively in a group.
Strong communication skills.
Advanced knowledge of Excel is preferred.
