Provides technical and logistical support to the energy control center staff responsible for operating the Company electric transmission and distribution systems and trouble dispatching activities. Represents and interacts with other departments to review, schedule, and coordinate technical activities in support of department goals.

MAJOR ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Scope of work - range of responsibilities):

  1. Manages information related to the electric system operations to ensure staff has the correct and most timely information. Maintains records and systems and performs analysis as needed for historical and compliance purposes.

  2. Initiate and manage technical projects related to Transmission Operations activities, including budget development and cost tracking.

  3. Provides support to ensure compliance with appropriate regulations and procedures. Participates in the development of and may provide training for policies and procedure.

  4. Manage Trouble/Outage Management System activity including storm restoration efforts, system enhancements and modifications, and support and training.

  5. Manage logisitics of procurement and maintenance of department equipment including computers, communications, and other associated systems used in control center operations and back-up facilities.

  6. Other duties as assigned.

Skills and Requirements

• Associates degree in Electrical Technology or a related field.

• Bachelors Degree preferred.

• At least 5-6 years of related experience in a technical environment.

• Knowledge of electrical theory.

• Good knowledge of trouble/outage management systems.

• Working knowledge of computer applications and communications equipment.

• Knowledge of relevant regulations and policies.


• Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.

• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

• Results oriented.

• Proactive oriented.

• Able to make decisions under pressure

• Proficient with PC skills and programs with an emphasis on Microsoft Office suite of programs.

Desired Skills/Abilities:

• Experience with document management.

• Experience with research, analysis and document drafting.

Avangrid employees may be assigned a system emergency role and in the event of a system emergency, may be required to work outside of their regular schedule/job duties. This is applicable to employees that will work in Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, and New York within AVANGRD Network and Corporate functions.
