Job Description
This position is responsible for the successful development, validation, and delivery of training programs for Transmission Project Management employees at Georgia Power. The position’s primary focus is on Project Management Learning Paths, including the gated process, change management, and project management principles and controls, while also supporting overall Power Delivery cross-functional training efforts.
This role involves managing and coordinating project management and controls training courses, collaborating with SOCO SMEs on content and learning objectives, and developing and recruiting instructors. This position will partner with applicable committees and departmental management, as well as company peers, to deliver quality and innovative training to prepare our employees for project management and controls positions. Additionally, the role includes gathering lessons learned outcomes to incorporate in future training and reviewing job descriptions and responsibilities for consistency and updated skills.
This position will be responsible for onboarding and refresher training.
Job Requirements
Education and Experience
A four-year accredited university is preferred OR non-technical degree.
PMP or other project management certification is preferred.
Previous experience as a trainer or curriculum developer is preferred
Experience with electric system design, construction, maintenance, and operating procedures is preferred
Experience with hybrid learning environments is a plus
Job Responsibilities
Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) for Transmission Project Management, responsible for curriculum development review and class planning. Facilitate training classes and co-instruct classes with SMEs as applicable. Facilitate training classes and co-instruct classes with SMEs as applicable
Oversee, direct the development, and delivery of training programs to ensure consistency and satisfactory scope of learning objectives
Manage, develop, and maintain training aids for the enhancement of the training programs, as well as innovative exercises to provide real-world practical training opportunities.
Gather lessons learned outcomes to incorporate in future training
Review job descriptions and job responsibilities of consistency and updated skills sets
Create training metrics to determine future training needs and curriculum updates
Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of training programs through data analysis and feedback from participants
Conduct assessments to identify training needs and gaps in knowledge among Transmission Project Management employees
Establish and maintain effective working relations within PMO and partner organizations to ensure process standardization, improvement and timely implementation
Support storm restoration efforts as needed

Additional Information
Infrequent overnight travel may be required.
This is a hybrid position. Candidates must live within reasonable commuting distance of a Georgia Power facility and be available for on-site work as required.
