As a leader of the IT Team, the IT Director will lead the selection and implementation of ERP systems, transitioning from multiple legacy systems to strategic ERPs over multiple years. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in aligning our technology architecture with the company's strategic objectives, enhancing operational efficiency, and supporting financial excellence.
MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Devise and execute a comprehensive ERP strategy, including the selection of systems that meet our business needs and the phased transition from legacy systems to a unified, strategic ERP platform.
Lead multi-year ERP implementation projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and with the desired business outcomes.
Oversee the integration of ERP systems with other critical applications and data sources, enhancing business process efficiency and data integrity.
Work closely with finance and other departments to understand their processes and challenges, using ERP capabilities to support and streamline FP&A, controllership, consolidation, and other finance functions.
Serve as the primary business contact for the finance function, ensuring IT strategies and systems fully support the finance department's needs and strategic objectives.
Continuously evaluate and enhance ERP system performance to meet evolving business needs.
Manage a team of IT professionals, providing leadership, direction, and development opportunities to support career growth and promote a culture of excellence.
Foster strong relationships with ERP vendors and other technology partners, negotiating contracts and overseeing service delivery to ensure it meets our business requirements.
Ensure the security, scalability, and reliability of ERP and finance IT systems, implementing best practices for data protection and business continuity.
Stay informed about the latest trends in ERP technology, finance management practices, and the construction industry to continually refine and improve our IT strategy.
Manage the IT budget for ERP and finance systems, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and maximizing return on investment.
EDUCATION, SKILLS AND WORK EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field.
Over 10 years of experience in IT management, with significant experience in ERP strategy, selection, and implementation, particularly in the construction or utilities sectors.
Expert knowledge of finance processes including FP&A, controllership, and consolidation, with a proven ability to apply IT solutions to streamline and enhance these functions.
Demonstrated success in managing large-scale IT projects, particularly ERP transitions, from legacy systems to modern platforms.
Strong leadership and team management skills, with a history of developing high-performing IT teams.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management abilities, capable of serving as a bridge between IT and finance.
Strategic thinker with a strong analytical mindset, able to address complex challenges and drive continuous improvement.
